Test Mode lets you build and test your Razorpay integration without moving real money. All API behaviour is identical to Live Mode — the only difference is that transactions are simulated. Use rzp_test_* keys for all Test Mode API calls. You can switch between modes in the Razorpay Dashboard using the Test / Live toggle in the top navigation bar.

Use the following card numbers when testing checkout flows. Any future expiry date, any 3-digit CVV, and any cardholder name are accepted.

Switching modes

  1. Log in to the Razorpay Dashboard.
  2. Use the Test Mode / Live Mode toggle at the top of the page.
  3. Generate separate API keys for each mode from Account & Settings → API Keys.
Test Mode transactions never appear in your Live Mode dashboard, and vice versa. Always verify you are using the correct key prefix (rzp_test_* vs rzp_live_*) before going live.
